In a viral video, television news host Chris Cuomo, formerly of CNN, experiences what Chaya Raichik describes as "get[ting] redpilled".
Cuomo's message--that the left's lust for Donald Trump's blood is a bad thing--should be mainstream, but it is in fact a radical idea, at least in the realm of leftist thought.
"That's why I reached out to Trump...he doesn't deserve this. A guy pointing an AK-47 at him while he's playing golf?...he's got grandkids, he's got a wife!..Where are those people apologizing [to Trump]?...He's not a despot in waiting," Cuomo states, "I don't buy it...Either you care when anyone is hurt, or you'll never really care when anyone is hurt."
Cuomo is not what most would consider to be a deep thinker. He's no father figure in the news world such as Walter Cronkite, nor is he the steady hand on the centrist tiller like Tom Brokaw. Cuomo is better described as childlike. Truly in a state of wonder regarding the world around him. And like a child, he is prone to mistakes and tantrums.
But that innocence, his naïveté, is exactly why his revelation about Trump's treatment at the hands of the press hits home. Sometimes it takes a child to see the simplest truths.
We've watched Cuomo come around on big issues before. It was only in May when he revealed that he was taking ivermectin for Covid-19 complications. He admitted that what he had derided as "horse paste" was working, improving his symptoms.
For those who argued that Cuomo was cynically trying to revive a dying career, well, we hear you. But to come out and flatly show support for Trump, not as a politician, but as a human being? That's unheard of in all but alt media.
So, kudos, Chris. We hope your journey continues, as it has for so many who suddenly realize how venomous the modern left has become.
