Once upon a time, people contributed to society. They were looked up to in such diverse fields as fashion, art, music, literature, finance, science, and math. Now, we have people that just want to tear s**t down. Where once people longed to do good, now, civil society is burdened by those that only wish to sow chaos. Unproductive, incompetent, and protected, they haphazardly burp out notions that pre-exist the Neanderthals’ discovery of fire, when the world was blanketed in darkness and difficulty. Democrats want to cut off your gas and snuff out your lights.
2020 provided Democrats with various tools in the tool kit letting the public know how they’re the ultimate buzzkills. Using mandates and lockdowns, they intruded themselves into all manners of life; holidays, funerals, work, school, travel, culture and entertainment, law, and the economy. Now, Democrats want to stick their mitts into our kitchens, literally.
Manhattan Borough President, Mark Levine, tweeted “In NYC we passed landmark legislation in 2021 banning gas hookups in new construction. Means all heating, hot water, and yes STOVES, will be electric in new buildings going forward. NYC is going to win the race to carbon neutrality. We are leaving red states in the dust.” We sure are; Mayor Adams just told us that “basic services are going to be cut.” Florida is green with envy.
Unsure who in New York City was paying attention to the gas stove legislation in 2021; we were living under tyrannical overreach from one party Democrat rule. Whether being forced to vaccinate, figure out how to pay rent, navigate a failed education system, or not get macheted at the ATM, we were in survival mode. Silly us, we weren’t focused on stoves. It was a perfect time to pass bills that the public knew next to nothing about and the public servants kept quiet.
Fast forward to 2023; our government, unelected bureaucrats, and mainstream media have lied to us about nearly everything. Over the course of the past week, we are now being told that gas stoves, courtesy of British inventor James Sharp in 1826, are killing machines.
Unelected bureaucrat Richard Trumka Jr, a commissioner of the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission), said “we need to be talking about regulating gas stoves, whether that’s drastically improving emissions or banning gas stoves entirely.” Trumka Jr. says gas stoves are “hidden hazard[s]” and that preventing their ongoing sale is “on the table.”
According to the trusted CDC, “Every year, at least 430 people die in the U.S. from accidental CO poisoning.” The CDC probably tacks these 430 people onto the death by COVID from a comorbidity. This is the same CDC that encouraged everyone under the sun to get the COVID “vaccine.” Almost three years later, CDC is now investigating whether there’s a link between Pfizer’s COVID booster and strokes.
The gas stove legislation passed in Albany in 2021 wasn’t aired in public until recently. Just before Biden went radio silent due to breaking news that as vice president, he stole top secret classified documents, he alerted the public to the chicanery. The Biden administration flirted with the nationwide gas stove ban based on CPSC’s report.
Pushback was severe; about 40 million American households use gas stoves. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre soothed the public at a presser; “The president does not support banning gas stoves.” Oh, ok, that’s settled.
Not so fast. Just before the New York gubernatorial election in November 2022, AOC teamed up with Hochul to defeat Zeldin. This past week, both AOC and Hochul, riffing off of Biden, who is now busy with trying to cover up stealing classified documents and scattering them throughout various locations, weighed in on gas stoves.
AOC tweeted, “Did you know that ongoing exposure to NO2 from gas stoves is linked to reduced cognitive performance.' Simultaneously, during Hochul’s State of the State speech on January 10th, she discreetly inserted a proposal banning new gas stoves into the “New York Housing Compact.” As a devout “climate warrior” Hochul wants us to go electric. She says, “Buildings are the largest source of emissions in our state, accounting for a third of our greenhouse gas output.”
Mere weeks ago, during Christmas, 52 Americans died. Not from gas stoves but from frigid weather resulting in rolling blackouts and the electrical grid failure. “At its peak on Christmas [2022], an estimated 1.7 million businesses and homes faced power outages.”
Today’s Democrats have latched onto Communism which is why it will ultimately fail. The party flouts the Constitution and wants government expansion and government intrusion into all aspects of life. Only loser ideas are hatched and based on Democrats’ rejection of meritocracy and embrace of low standards, implementation of half-baked ideas will be deadly dangerous.
The fact is, electricity was harnessed and explained in 1752 by Benjamin Franklin (wait until those that reject history find out he is a Founding Father). He captured a bolt of electricity on the metal tip of his kite which he flew during a rainstorm. Ever since, homes throughout the world have lighting rods so as to avoid harm from electrical storms. These Democrat clowns talk about electricity as if they’ve just discovered the wheel. Like everything else they put forward, it is built on other’s achievements from which they look to both undermine and profit.
