Last week, Rockland County Republican County Chair Lawrence Garvey publicly threw his hat in the ring for the state’s Republican Chairman position which was vacated by Nick Langworthy, after he won a Congressional seat this past November.
Langworthy is expected to resign from the position soon. This will be followed by a meeting where members of the GOP Committee nominate a candidate. Many little known statewide republican county chairs and committee members have expressed interest in the position.
It is every voter's obligation to fight for a leader who can save a two party system in New York NOW!
The new state leader should be have a resume that includes most of the following plus other unique qualities:
Lawrence Garvey is one candidate openly campaigning for the position.
In August 2019, the Rockland County Republican Committee aired a video which was critical of the influence of a Hasidic community in the Hudson Valley.
The 2-minute video warned of a "takeover" of the county by the Hasidic Jewish community that threatens "our way of life" as more Jewish people move into the area.
The video at one point references the political potency of the Kiryas Joel community has been at issue in local elections amid concerns about zoning and influence in local school districts in the Hudson Valley, largely in Orange County.
After pressure, including public statements from them Governor Andrew Cuomo and the Attorney General Letitia James, Garvey’s removed the video with a statement of questionable claims:
A month later, The New York Post reported that Garvey threatened to rerelease the video to target Aaron Wieder [a Rockland County legislator who is Jewish] and his Ramapo bloc are he believed was plotting a takeover.

The New York State GOP Chair, Nick Langworthy, was silent as well.
We can not allow this man to be the leader of the NYSGOP.
Another name being considered is Suffolk County Chair, Jesse Garcia. He has several issues on his resume as well, including the fact that he was not the chair able to raise money for Lee Zeldin during last year’s gubernatorial race.
Why We Won
2022 was a great year for Republicans in elections within specific communities. The victories were a result of issues like cashless bail reform and high crime, a failing economy and the lack of democrats coming out to vote. We had some really good candidates with impressive resumes that worked hard for the votes.
We also lost because of a lack of republican state leadership. We did not need an expensive gubernatorial primary or unknowns running for Attorney General and Comptroller.
We also have a current Assemblywoman, Stacey Pfeffer Amato, of Queens, that lost on Election night but with the help of her mother, Queens County Clerk, Audrey Pfeffer, was able to overturn invalid votes in multiple court cases and be sworn in last week. Most New Yorkers are not aware of this and no state leader fought to educate the public to fight for us in court. Shame on us!
Names To Consider
My suggestions:
Any thoughts on who you think should run? It’s our last chance to save New York. We can not depend on who is running the show now.
