Amidst a crime spike that’s shot up to 43.81% in a two year period and illegals accounting for almost 50% in some public schools, New York City is a tinderbox waiting to explode.

We already know how to fight crime, even when a city such as Gotham is on the brink. We saw it done under the Mayor Giuliani administration, implemented by Commissioner Kerik. In this regard, all Democrat enclaves are lucky, their leaders needn’t reinvent the wheel - they have a foolproof blueprint.

But this blueprint only works if one wants to actually stop crime. We can only conclude New York City Mayor Adams does not.

    Here’s his non-plan plan.

    • Give first-time offenders intervention programs instead of prosecution
    • De-escalation training for retail employees
    • Establish neighborhood retail watch groups to share theft info in real-time with one another and NYPD
    • Install kiosks in stores to connect would-be thieves with social service programs

This grade-A buffoonery merits top-place in the Almanac of world’s stupidest ideas and outline for defeat.

In response to Adams’ initiative, Kerik tweeted; “This would be the @RudyGiuliani/Kerik plan: Strict enforcement of existing laws with no desk appearance tickets. Recommend off-duty police officers to replace private security, to affect immediate arrests. Assign additional canine units to substantial retail areas. Increase DA/correction funding to expedite increased arrests activity. Strongly recommend that the governor repeals or eliminates bail reform laws that allows the immediate release of these thieves.”

Kerik’s plan is what serious people, determined to thwart crime and protect constituents, would implement. But New York City voters didn’t elect this type of leadership. One-party Democrat rule has manufactured crisis after crisis and financial albatross after financial albatross.

Pro-criminal and pro-illegal policies are a deadly combination. And New York City’s leadership is committed to continuing both and burning through taxpayers’ money. The very notion that Adams’ “plan” will work is an insult to his constituents, who he must believe to be abject morons.

After the Daniel Penny and tormented “Citi Bike Nurse incident”, why in fresh hell would anyone dare to intervene in a crime or potential crime? Penny and Trump are seemingly the only two people in a city stocked with criminals that are targeted by Manhattan DA Bragg. Penny’s offense, protecting a subway cart full of terrified commuters as a known mental case and career criminal that kidnapped a seven-year-old boy, threatened riders and was eventually neutralized. What happened to “Citi Bike Nurse”? She made the mistake of being white and asking five black men to stop stealing her bike. This resulted in her being branded a racist, fired from her job, doxxed, having racist attorney Ben Crump vilify her on social media, and go into hiding.

The message: only someone wanting to lawyer up, be labeled a racist, face financial impoverishment, and potentially go to jail, would ever go head-to-head with a “booster” - a professional thief. Coincidentally, “booster” has been created by Democrat one party rule and is now a designated career path for those refusing to work and delighted to find that local leadership has made New York City fertile hunting ground.

Mayor Adams' strategy of crime-fighting state-of-the-art technology kiosks across the city omitted any numbers. How much does each one cost to make? How many kiosks are we talking about? There are 71,763 storefronts in New York City - will each get a kiosk? What is the installation cost? Are they solar powered and if the sun can’t pierce through brick and mortar, what is the additional energy cost and who will eat this - the business or taxpayer? How many government factotums will be hired to wait on bated breath for the thieves to dial-in and ask for help?

Also, how are these kiosks, equipped with surveillance cameras, advanced sensors, and communication capabilities, not a version of the contested “stop-and-frisk”, eliminated because it was deemed racist? They have high-resolution cameras installed within the units and provide comprehensive coverage of public spaces. We’re to suspend disbelief and think “boosters” and other criminals, in some cases with over 100 prior convictions, will think twice? Illegals, criminals by definition, just broke the most cardinal rule for any country. Suddenly, they will be deterred from committing another criminal act? Whatever brain power Adams spent coming up with this plan is too much - it’s sheer lunacy.

Then there’s the pretense that the kiosks also serve as engagement tools and information hubs, bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community. Oh, right. Democrats on the City Council have been banging on about disbanding police tool after police tool, like SRG (Strategic Response Group), which tracks gang activity. Why? Because of “equity.”

Lastly, what about privacy laws? Americans no longer have any rights - we’ve seen them stripped away during the government's response to COVID, BLM terror, Biden removing our borders, and on and on. But now, these kiosks will capture images and sounds of innocent passersby during a time when the government acts like Stasi and trust in the institution has plummeted. Who knows what they’ll use these images and sounds for. Afterall, apprehending and locking up criminals isn’t the goal, it’s ensnaring the Penny’s and “Citi Bike Nurse’s” of the world.
