There are many differences between Republicans and Democrats. The most striking one is this; Republicans assume no one is their audience and zip it. Democrats assume everyone is their audience and won’t shut up.
After dropping off my kids to school this morning, I took the subway home. A middle aged white man (race is important here) was blocking the Union Square exit. Holding a sign saying, “Stop Scapegoating Migrants”, waving a stack of flyers, he lectured the few commuters left in Manhattan that haven’t fled to Florida and that are financially strapped enough to risk riding the subway. This pompous, privileged, fraud messed with the wrong people and chose the wrong venue.
I asked him point blank, “How many illegal migrants have you taken into your home.” He wouldn’t answer that but did tell me “I don’t get it.” I asked him to explain. He said, “This is about defending migrants from racist scapegoating.” I followed up by asking, who is racist and scapegoating illegal migrants?
“Moms”, he said.
Then he blamed Curtis Sliwa and black New York City Mayor Adams for being racist against illegal migrants who this man thinks can only be black and brown. So much for the Ukrainians, who according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, have over six million designated refugees.that actually qualify for asylum.
Then the man pivoted to “Rich people are to blame” before summing up his argument by calling me a “racist” and walking away.
Here’s the thing, as anyone that rides the New York City subway knows, it’s a mixed crowd. And this mixed crowd wasn't receptive to the pro illegal immigrant advocate housing zero illegal immigrants lecturing us, of all places, at the exit of a subway. One white man took a flyer only to make a point of crumpling it and throwing it on the street. An elderly black man, who defended me, said to the pro illegal migrant advocate, “this isn’t about racism, it’s about breaking laws.”
Here’s why subway riders are a good demographic to poll on the temperature of current events; everything you need to understand is visible in our underground system. Subways are disgusting, dangerous, and deadly. These problems have been exponentially exacerbated by two things; one party Democrat rule refusing to abide by the law and illegal immigrants.
All one needs are eyes; the demographic of riders has totally changed since Spring 2022. Illegal migrants - yes, you can profile them - have babies affixed to their bodies with cloth, boxes of candy they’re selling, and other kids trailing behind as they try and sell goods and turn a profit. They have no vendor's permit, no permit for the minors to work, no fear about truancy for the kids not being in school, and almost certainly no reporting of any profits to the IRS. Then there is the other type of illegal, the one tNew York City Mayor Adams has plied with taxpayer funded money and e-scooter and smartphone. This grifter fare-evades, then hogs up space he didn’t pay for with a motor vehicle, blasting music from his “free” phone.
There’s been a referendum. According to a Siena Poll, 82% of New Yorkers say illegal migrants are a “serious problem.” This is as New York City is 68% Democrat. In other words, Democrats hate Democrat policies when it impacts them. And Illegal migrants are impacting them and everyone else in New York City. Not least of which are subway riders.
