Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.'s performance tonight against a superior opponent in every facet of their debate all but assures there won't be another. The first presidential debate of the 2024 election season was an annihilation, pure and simple. The Manhattan predicts it will be the last.
Trump was what he promised back in 2016: presidential. Composed, serious, passionate. Biden? Meandering, lost, unintelligible, pitiful. One might feel bad for him but for the carnage he has wrought on the country in the past three and a half years.
Sure, the pundits on the left will scramble to excuse Biden, seek to ameliorate the stinging loss, but woe unto the shill who tries to claim a victory for Mumbly Joe. The ratio awaits thee.
A paragraph on "how to lie effectively and how Biden failed to do so" doesn't even make sense to write here. Joe's open-mouthed stares into middle distance, the trailing off, the failure to produce a more meaningful retort than, "The IDEA that..." obviate the need for further discussion.
As Trump said, "I don't really know what he said at the end of that last sentence, and I don't think he knows either." It was a masterstroke vs. an actual stroke.
