Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) claimed tonight that Donald Trump's would-be assassin Thomas Crooks had three "encrypted overseas accounts."
To be fair, Waltz demurred when asked for further commentary, stating that further information would be shared after a House hearing scheduled for Monday.
Could it be a nothingburger?
Encrypted accounts are not uncommon these days, given the preponderance of services such as WhatsApp and Signal. Even the "overseas" variety are not unusual. Proton Mail (based in Switzerland) is a relatively popular double-ended encrypted email service.
Whether Crooks' accounts were of the banking variety, or simply commonly used apps, remains to be seen.
How do we on the right keep getting SCREWED?
