Harvey Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan on Thursday. The disgraced movie producer is suffering from complications related to coronavirus, fluid on his heart and lungs, diabetes, spinal stenosis, assorted pneumonia symptoms, and high blood pressure, as reported by Breitbart.
Weinstein was transferred from his cell on Rikers Island, where he is serving 16 years for a prior rape conviction in California, to a secure ward in Bellevue.
The movie mogul's most recent conviction on April of 2020--for the rape and sexual assault of two women--was overturned by a New York appeals court due to testimony from alleged victims not involved in the case. The retrial is slated to begin in November.
A hearing to discuss further details of the retrial will take place on September 12.
