Former Deputy Chief of Staff to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul was charged today of acting as an agent of the Chinese government. Linda Sun was charged with alien smuggling, and money laundering conspiracy.
Sun, 40, and her husband Chris Hu, 41, were also charged with conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registrations Act. Prosecutors claimed that Sun acted as "an undisclosed agent of the Chinese government while her husband, Hu, facilitated the transfer of millions of dollars in kickbacks for personal gain."
Further, prosecutors added, Sun "directly threatened" the national security of the United States while promoting the agenda of the CCP.

In 2018, the FBI informed Feinstein, who was Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee at the time, that her driver of nearly 20 years was a spy for the Chinese Communist Party.
In 2020, a relationship between California Rep. Eric Swalwell and Chinese spy Christine Fang came to light. Fang, federal investigators discovered, had infiltrated the offices of several politicians, had confirmed sexual relations with some of them, and managed to place "at least one intern" in Swalwell's office, according to Axios.
Notably, Sun also worked for former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Add New York Governor Kathy Hochul to the list of the duped. Or is her case worse? Was Hochul fooled, or is there more to this story? The sheer number of Chinese spies linked to prominent Democrats is now a pattern, not a coincidence. Who hires someone who holds a Chinese passport to work for their political office?
Perhaps fittingly, one of the ideologies Sun spread in her position under Hochul was Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (see tweet below). DEI is the child of Marxist theories about how to destabilize democratic societies.
Sun was Hochul's Deputy Chief of Staff, not a small player in Albany. Her lavish home, a five-bedroom, six-bathroom manse in Manhasset on Long Island's North Shore, was raided by the FBI in July.
Sun, shares the home with her husband Chris Hu. Hu owns a liquor store in Queens, and he operated a company called "Medical Supplies USA LLC" during the Covid pandemic. For her part, Sun is reported to have made roughly $145,000 in 2021.
As reported by Politico, Hu has other financial vehicles:
"...Hu was also listed as the CEO for the company 'Foodie Fisherman LLC' and was shown to have partial ownership of a property in Jamaica, Queens, with his share reportedly valued somewhere between $250 to $500k. According to The Salem News, a local newspaper for communities north of Boston, Hu was with delegates from the Chinese Consulate General’s office during a trip and luncheon in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The article, published in 2016, said Hu’s company 'exports more than a million pounds of lobster annually back to China.'"
