Manhattan may soon be home to a giant Wynn casino. The Hudson Yards locale--the giant subway graveyard at the north end of the High Line--would be covered up and transformed into a $12 billion mixed use site.

Wynn Resorts, along with partners Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group, needs to obtain one of only three gaming licenses available for the region.

    As reported by HotelDive:

"If approved, Hudson Yards West will also include a 5.6-acre public park, comparable in size to New York City’s Bryant Park; 1,500 housing units, including 324 affordable apartments; and a public K-8 school, according to the release. Wynn New York City will 'anchor the development,' the companies noted. The resort will feature signature Wynn amenities, including casual and fine dining, spa facilities, event spaces and upscale gaming that will 'enhance Manhattan’s global reputation as the ultimate destination,' according to the project website. The development would also create 5,000 permanent union jobs, the companies said."

    "This Club Has EVERYTHING"

Did you catch that? A new public school, a huge (for NYC) park, new apartments, and...5,000 new union jobs! It's like Christmas in late summer. The skids are greased. This will happen, due in no small part to how many pols and administrators will surely get a cut.

The Wynn project is right up the alley of Eric "Nightlife Mayor" Adams, and Gov. Kathy Hochul loves big developments, such as the new joint public-private arrangement to build the Buffalo Bills stadium. Critics say it could benefit Kathy's husband Bill Hochul, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Delaware North, the company that operates the concessions at the Buffalo Bills’ Highmark Stadium. Further complicating matters, Albany was forced to put the heat to the Seneca Tribe to get the deal done, to the tune of $565 million.

So, keep your eyes open for developments. We will, because New York's Hottest Club is...Wynn New York City.
