    Tom Donlon (X screencap).

Tom Donlon, the ink barely dry on his contract as NYC's top cop, has already had his homes raided by the FBI. The searches took place on Friday.

    Donlon issued the following statement:

"On Friday, Sept. 20, federal authorities executed search warrants at my residences. They took materials that came into my possession approximately 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work with the New York City Police Department. This is not a department matter, and the department will not be commenting."

Donlon, the sterling replacement for outgoing disgraced former chief Edward Caban, was expected to stanch the PR bleeding for the NYPD while Mayor Eric Adam's cabinet of corruption continues to wilt under federal exposure.

    This is a developing story.

The Manhattan will fearlessly chronicle the problems and try to offer solutions. We won’t shy away from issues, we will lean into them.
