From The Pole To The Bench

In New York, killing grandmas is no big deal if you know the right people. Or the right judge. Brooklyn judge LaShann DeArcy Hall dismissed a case brought by a family member of a victim of former governor Andrew Cuomo's disastrous decision to mandate that nursing homes admit Covid-positive patients during the pandemic.

As Hall admitted in an interview with a local news station, she didn't feel that she was worthy to accept the offer to become a federal judge. "If I waited until the day that I felt competent to become a judge, to sit on the bench, I wouldn't be here, 'cause I would've never thought that I was ready."

Hall, formerly a "professional dancer," was assigned the case brought by Brooklynite Daniel Arbeeny, who, with other victims, argued that his father’s death was caused by Cuomo's 2020 state health department order.

Cuomo is vying to become the next mayor of New York City.

Live By The Sword, DEI By The Sword

In the span of one day, the New York political machine that assisted Cuomo stands accused of sabotaging the defense of Mayor Eric Adams.

Adams faces a five-count indictment brought by the Southern District of New York. The charges center on bribery, campaign fund fraud, and travel/lodging upgrades in trips to and from Turkey while Adams sought to expedite the permitting of the 36-floor Turkish consulate near the United Nations building.

Adams' attorney, Alex Spiro, argued yesterday that the charges against Adams are incorrect, and further, that secret grand jury information has been leaked to the press, making a fair trial impossible.

“For nearly a year, the government has leaked grand jury material and other sensitive information to the media to aggrandize itself, further its investigation, and unfairly prejudice the defendant," Spiro wrote.

While it's true that Adams promoted a cast of odd and often unqualified characters to positions of local prominence, he is one of few Democrats to admit that the illegal alien situation in New York is an untenable crisis which will "destroy the city."

That's what this power shuffle is all about. Adams is now a cautionary tale to all Democrats, while Cuomo is being rewarded. Apparently, white privilege is alive and well...on the left.
