Given the number of departures from Mayor Eric Adams' administration, City Hall might well be mistaken for LaGuardia Airport.

The latest to go: First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright. Wright will be "replaced" by Maria Torres-Spring, the city’s deputy mayor for housing, but the change is really just window dressing, shuffling what few pieces remain on the chess board.

New York Democrats are scrambling to find replacements for vacant city posts in what was once a source of boastful pride for Adams, who memorably asked, "Have you ever seen this much chocolate running the city of New York?

Wright's husband, NYC Schools Chancellor David Banks, was also dismissed from the Adams administration. His last day on the job is October 16th.

Wright's dismissal is likely the handiwork of Gov. Kathy Hochul, who has pushed Adams to "clean house". Hochul has the authority to remove Adams from office, though it is doubtful she would do so prior to the November elections, especially since Adams is unlikely to win reelection.

Wright becomes the tenth Adams aide to resign. She was seen on video five days ago, when she grabbed a reporter's camera outside of her home before angrily walking away.

The relatively vanilla charges brought against Adams are widely rumored to be the result of the mayor's pushback against illegal aliens foisted on the city during the reign of the Biden-Harris administration.

The federal corruption case brought against Adams is slated to begin in March.
