New York's Finest are facing more attacks on the job than ever before. So far this year, 1,975 assaults have been recorded, and we have two and a half months to go. The figure usually comes in at 1,200 or so, though it was lower during 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

The flood of illegal aliens arriving in our sanctuary city is part of the problem. Compounding the issue is the city's refusal to prosecute criminals.
As reported by the New York Post:
Assaults on NYPD cops have skyrocketed to “unprecedented levels,” surging 41% so far this year compared to last and 60% since 2019, data obtained by The Post show. So far this year, 1,975 officers have been assaulted while on the job in the city, compared to 1,763 at the same point in 2023. The number of attacks on cops has risen for five straight years, and now dwarfs the number of assaults recorded in pre-pandemic 2019, when 1,253 were logged. Cops believe the shocking trend reflects a growing disrespect for cops, and a building sentiment among criminals that fighting a cop will go unpunished. “Years ago, you had to be really crazy to fight cops,” said a longtime NYPD officer. “Now it’s open season for everyone — the protestors, the migrants, even the regular career criminals.”
Today, police, along with friends and family of Detective Troy Patterson gathered in Brooklyn at Franklin Ave., which has been honorifically renamed for the officer. Patterson was shot while on duty in 1990, lived in a coma for 33 years, and passed away in 2023.
It's bad and getting worse. The cops and the taxpayers want the same thing. In the 2025 mayoral race, whoever is toughest on crime--and understands that the Alvin Bragg-Letitia James tag team has to go--will win a lot of votes.
