Another tragic result of the Joe Biden's exhortation to "surge the border", and Kamala Harris' open-door policies since being appointed border czar in early 2021 has come to light in Queens.
Nearly a year ago in December of 2023, Davi Vidal, 20, attacked and killed Zoraida Leo, 55. A dispute over the rent Vidal owed to Leo was the cause behind the confrontation, which took place in Leo's building on E. 96th St. in Elmhurst, Queens.

Vidal crossed illegally into the US at San Luis, Arizona when he was 17, in June of 2022--more than a year after Kamala Harris took over as border czar, her only substantive special assignment under Biden. He was released into the US as an unaccompanied minor, a common Biden/Harris policy, a decision justified loosely under "humanitarian reasons".

Vidal, originally from Colombia, had been staying with an aunt on Long Island. The aunt caught him smoking marijuana and kicked him out. He found Leo's apartment for rent in Queens, and his aunt agreed to paid the rent, but later failed to do so, leading to the murderous confrontation.
Initially, the victim's family didn't even know Vidal was an illegal alien. It didn't have to be this way--and under Trump, it wasn't. As reported by the New York Post:
Jon Feere, who served as a senior adviser to the ICE director under President Donald Trump, said it is not surprising that victims’ families are left in the dark about crimes committed by migrants.
Feere, who served with the agency from 2017 to 2020, said he helped create a victims advocacy office within ICE but it was dismantled after President Biden took office.
Leo left behind four children. Vidal remains in Rikers Island without bail.
