President-elect Donald Trump has selected Dr. Martin Makary to head the Food and Drug Administration. Makary is a pancreatic surgeon at Johns Hopkins University, and author of three bestselling books.
He is also, crucially, a vocal critic of the US Government's response to Covid-19. Makary testified before Congress during the pandemic. He opposed Covid vaccine mandates, and vaccines for children. He is also highly critical of what the FDA allows into our food supply, much like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Makary is not the anti-mRNA absolutist many MAGA hardliners want for the position, but overall, his beliefs align with the cabinet Trump is building. Further, his credentials are impeccable, and he will be easily confirmed.
