Special counsel Jack Smith is in the process of ending his legal jihad against president-elect Donald Trump.
Smith, seen by the left as a righteous warrior bent on bringing down Trump by any means necessary, was building a case against the 45th and 47th president based on two cases: J6 election interference, and alleged mishandling of sensitive government documents. Never mind that President Joe Biden was exposed for having scores of classified documents at multiple locations, including in his garage.
NBC News just broke in to announce "Special Counsel Jack Smith just filed a motion to dismiss the federal criminal case against the president-elect."

This is a MASSIVE WIN for the rule of law. pic.twitter.com/2lkzsE2v1t
A Mar-a-Lago raid in August of 2022 turned up documents that Smith contended were criminally damning to Trump. Ever since then, the most rabidly anti-Trump crowd (dubbed by some as "Blue Anon" as a lefty antipode to Q-Anon) has harbored fantasies that Smith was building a legitimate case that would bring down Trump.
Remember the time Liz Cheney headed up the Jan. 6th committee to throw Trump in prison and then some girl testified she heard Trump overpowered the secret service and stole a limousine and then Trump won the election and then Jack Smith had to drop the case?

That was hilarious.
The first sign that Smith's cases were a house of cards: US District Judge Aileen Cannon ruled earlier this year that Smith was unlawfully appointed. Smith appealed the decision, but now he has decided to dismiss his appeal from the 11th Circuit, effectively ending the cases brought against Trump, a total of four felony charges.
