• Daniel Penny Case Rubs Salt Into Floyd, J6, And Trump Lawfare Wounds

They got used to prosecuting on emotion rather than facts. Prosecuting the narrative instead of the man. Across America, the Daniel Penny subway chokehold case has taken on the air of something much larger: it feels like a referendum on the past four years.

    Floyd The Zone

First there was George Floyd. A nation watched as a black career criminal overdosed on fentanyl while a white cop detained him. The officers who arrested him got him into the back of an SUV cruiser. Then Floyd's behavior--allegedly due to claustrophobia--became so erratic that they granted his request to get out.

Police academies around the country, take note. Allowing a large, very high suspect to get out of the cruiser was a terrible mistake. If they had simply shut the doors and let him yell, the world might be a better place today.

Instead, we have statues commemorating a man who pointed a gun at a pregnant woman during a stickup.

    J6 Tricks

Then there was J6, while yet again, a nation watched helplessly as the jaws of Nancy Pelosi's J6 trap slowly closed on gullible Trump supporters. Aroused to a fever pitch by a blatantly crooked, "fortified" election, patriots rallied around the president. The Capitol Police opened gates and doors...

...while we watched the televised details fall into place. Mainstream media made sure to focus on the script: the pipe bomb, the broken windows, the weirdo with the horned helmet...all while ignoring Ashli Babbitt, and muddying the water around Ray Epps.

    Lead And Circuses

Lastly, the electorate was subjected to two assassination attempts on the life of Donald Trump. These highly suspect twin incidents in the span of a few weeks galvanized support for a man who had recently endured a manufactured legal dog-and-pony show at the hands of New York's rabid Attorney General, never-Trumper Letitia James, DEI failqueen Fani Willis, and Jack "General Zod" Smith.

A mockery of the judicial system, the "hush money" trial involving pornography actress Stormy Daniels dragged on for months. Smug judge Juan "Eyeliner" Merchan presided over a case that became an emblem of the deep state's maniacal attempts to besmirch Trump's good name.

In all of these instances, by the grace of hindsight, we see that the left's furious machinations boomeranged, and served to expose them as vicious charlatans.

Of course the election was a massive relief for conservatives. But it didn't erase the partisan anger at having endured the past four (indeed, eight!) years of what, to borrow a phrase of Joe Biden's, was pure malarkey. To the contrary, the election heightened the right's appetite for revenge. It underscored the nation's collective disgust with the corrupt, faceless DC blob.

    Penny For Your Thoughts

And that's why the trial of Daniel Penny has cultivated such rancor on the right. We heave a sigh of relief when law and order prevails, as it did when Alexander Rakitin subdued his assailant in the subway a week ago. We careen back to frustration when Jussie Smollett gets a free pass after nearly starting a race war.

The Daniel Penny trial was bound to take place. A man died, after all. But a guilty verdict could have a Chinese-tier chilling effect on good Samaritan behavior. When we see criminals set free and patriots imprisoned time and again, a malaise sets in. It undermines what we teach our children about the United States and what it stands for.

Yes, Trump could pardon Penny, but the sanctity of our system of government shouldn't rest on the shoulders of one man.
