In a press conference today at Mar-a-Lago, president-elect Donald Trump was asked by a reporter is he would consider pardoning embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Trump thought for a moment, then confirmed that he might.

"He was treated pretty unfairly...I'd have to see it, I don't know the facts...he essentially went against what was happening with the migrants coming in," Trump said. "You know, he made some pretty strong statements, like, 'This is not sustainable'...I said, 'He's gonna be indicted', and a few months later, he got indicted. So, I would certainly look at it."

Ostensibly, it's good news for Adams, but how would his constituents react to a mayor pardoned by Trump?

Adams initially welcomed migrants, then changed his tune when he saw how many were arriving, overwhelming the city's resources.

As for the rift between Adams and the Democratic Party, it has only grown wider in the past week. On December 12, Adams stated publicly that 500,000 migrant children have gone missing in the US, specifically mentioning the Biden administration.

"We don't know if they're doing child labor, we don't know if they're doing sex crimes, we don't know if they're being exploited," he said.
