The ongoing saga and mystery of heavy drone activity over New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania is starting to take shape. Based on comments from the Mayor of Belleville, NJ, Michael Melham, a recent shipping incident may point to a reason for the drone sightings.
On December 2, an allegedly damaged shipping container arrived in Port Newark, NJ. It should have housed medical equipment that contains a small amount of radioactive material, but the container was empty. The device was shipped from the Nazha Cancer Center in Northfield, NJ for disposal.
The mayor of Belleville, New Jersey, has confirmed that U.S. government drones are actively searching for something, possibly radioactive materials, in the area.

While the speculation is compelling, it's a long way from an official explanation. The lack of federal transparency was frustrating enough to lead president-elect Donald Trump to weigh in on the subject.
"The government knows what's happening," Trump stated flatly. "I think they'd be better off saying what it is. Our military knows, and our president knows, and for some reason they want to keep people in suspense."

After noting that drones had been seen near Bedminster, NJ, the home of Trump National Golf Club, he mused, "I think maybe I won't spend the weekend at Bedminster," and then, seemingly on the spot, he decided not to go, stating clearly, "I've decided to cancel my trip."
A House Intelligence Committee hearing with the White House and DHS is scheduled for 2:00 pm today. Hopefully, the meeting will provide some clarity on the issue. But if the experience mirrors the Dept. of Homeland Security briefing area mayors received on December 11, don't bet on it, say officials who have recently been briefed.
The drone briefing was a waste of time

State and Federal agencies all asserted directly or by proxy that they have no information or knowledge of anything. Not even a lead to any form of conclusion on what these vehicles might be
The room was palpably frustrated
The Senate…
Mayor Daniel Francisco of Englishtown, NJ vented his frustration with DHS agents who claimed to lack any information in the briefing. That was nearly a week ago.
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) isn't expecting any grand revelations in today's hearing. She noted that it will be a public briefing, so she doubts any new details will be forthcoming. "It's not a classified briefing, so I'm sure it'll be the same information we're seeing on Twitter. It's ridiculous," Malliotakis stated.
"At least say what it is, in terms of, that it is military exercises. That, I would think, would be satisfactory to most people, to not think we're somehow being invaded by another country, or another planet."
