There is something quite comforting about the image above. Daniel Penny, the man who intervened when crazed derelict Jordan Neely began to threaten the lives of fellow riders on the F Train, is back on the subway!

Neely, of course, sadly died after being subdued, a fact of which Penny was unaware when questioned by police detectives. He endured a long and public trial with grace and dignity. The knowledge that he's back, casually commuting, is both courageous and refreshing.
One hopes that Penny doesn't have to face a similar situation in the future, but his fellow passengers should feel reassured that he's back on the iron horse. Long may you ride, Mr. Penny!
If I were him I would have moved out of that rotten state and I would not have ridden the death train that is for sure.
