Super Bowl halftime show feat. Kendrick Lamar (X).

Super Bowl LIX went off without a hitch, for the most part. There were very few controversial calls, especially for a game featuring the NFL's sacred-cash-cow team, the Kansas City Swifts Chiefs.

There was, however, a controversial scene during the halftime show featuring headlining rapper Kendrick Lamar. It had nothing to do with Lamar's performance of diss track "Not Like Us," in which he accuses Canadian rapper Drake of pedophilia. It had to do with a performer waving a mocked-up Palestine flag.

Lamar brought a total of 400 extras to the big game in an extravagant, if poorly received, show. One of the dancers took his time in the spotlight to reveal a hidden rectangle of fabric resembling the national flag of Palestine. Painted on the flag were a heart, a fist, and the words "Sudan" and "Gaza".

After his act of protest, the dancer leapt from the Buick Grand National stage prop he was standing on and attempted to run from law enforcement. He was tackled, arrested, and led away. The New Orleans Police Dept. has refused to release the man's name. He has been banned for life from any NFL event.

Roc Nation, the recording company that produced the event, have distanced themselves from the protester, claiming that he acted alone and was not part of the planned entertainment.
