A Tale Of A Two-Faced City

Mayor Eric Adams has reversed his course on sanctuary city policy after meeting with border czar Tom Homan. ICE will now be able to conduct their business in New York City without interference from city employees.

Adams tried to have it both ways. After accepting a pardon from President Trump for a retributive lawfare case brought against him by the Southern District of NY, the mayor attempted to accept tens of millions in federal aid directed at illegal aliens still housed in the city.

Adams was rebuffed by DOGE. Further, he was called to the mat to meet with the border czar, Tom Homan, in ICE's Manhattan offices yesterday. The meeting--the second between the two men--comes a day after US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that her office is suing New York over immigration enforcement.

After meeting with Homan, Adams was all smiles and fully on board with allowing ICE to do their business in the city, including Rikers Island, where office space previously occupied by ICE office will reopen. In short, New York City is no longer a sanctuary for criminal aliens.

The next question: how much longer will Adams have a job? Gov. Kathy Hochul is mulling removing him from his post through powers vested in her office through the New York State Constitution. More to come on this topic today.
