The idea had been percolating online for a week or more: why wouldn't law enforcement officers simply show up at a rally supporting illegal aliens? Logically, there would likely be plenty of undocumented individuals present.
Turns out, the illegals turned out. So did the NYPD.

On Thursday, a protest wended its way from Foley Square in Lower Manhattan to the ICE offices on West Houston in SoHo. Along the way, officers arrested several protesters. One suspects the arrests will have a chilling effect on the next planned protest.
