The Trump administration is withholding $18B in federal funding for the Hudson tunnel project, and the 2nd Ave Subway due to concerns over DEI spending in the city.

Some conservative media has speculated this withholding of funds is related to the ongoing government shutdown.

However, this is short-sighted, and shallow reporting.

The reason for the defunding of New York projects is the Trump administration's focus on the recovery of New York City from the criminal cartel that controls it, and the state government of New York as well.

This is part of an overall strategy to recover our republic's institutions; the financial capital of the world, New York City, is certainly one of these institutions.

Cutting off funding sources for corruption is a large part of this strategy.

In addition, the funding cutoff is also likely a shot across the bow for those supporting Zohran Mamdani for mayor of Gotham.

Trump has stated publicly he will withhold funding from a Mamdani administration.

Without corrupt funding, the bad actors will starve and be less powerful. The White House knows this.
