Reports on Anthropic’s financials for the first half of 2026, before its expected stock market debut, reveal that the AI startup recorded a net loss of $80.7 billion.

Revenue was up strongly in the third quarter and reached $16.8bn, a rise of 45% over the second quarter.

Growth in the third quarter came in slower than expected, following a more than doubling of revenue in the second quarter.

Anthropic is expected to go public in November. Several investors have revised their estimated IPO valuation of Anthropic down to around $1.5 trillion in the public market.

The IPO of Anthropic will be a test case for the rest of the AI industry, including OpenAI which is considering a listing for next year. How the market values the company in its first days of trading could influence the price at which OpenAI debuts.

The Manhattan is a new media outlet combatting the Leftist narrative in NYC. We love The Big Apple, we want it to succeed and prosper and are committed to revealing how flawed ‘progressive’ policy is ruinous. As crime spikes, the homeless crisis balloons, schools continue to degrade, and quality of life plummets, we’re determined to help effectuate change. The Manhattan will fearlessly chronicle the problems and try to offer solutions. We won’t shy away from issues, we will lean into them.
