After panicking when the city's shelters reached capacity due to the arrival of a flood of illegal migrants from the southern border, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is now using taxpayer dollars to pay for bus tickets to Canada for any migrants who want to leave the Big Apple.
It appears that an unchecked crisis at one U.S. border is now creating a new crisis at the Canadian border.
Many migrants are taking advantage of the offer to flee New York for Canada, in the dead of winter, due to rising crime rates, a growing drug problem, and general filth in New York City.
According to several migrants, soldiers from the National Guard are distributing tickets to upstate NY and the Canadian border at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
Venezuelan native Raymond Peña arrived at a gas station bus stop about 20 miles south of the Canadian border with his family in Plattsburgh, NY at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Peña said, "The military gave me and my family free bus tickets. I am going to Canada for a better quality of life for my family."
Meanwhile, a source with the National Guard confirmed that soldiers are directing migrants who want the tickets to workers who then hand them out for free.
According to a source with City Hall, the Adams' administration is working with numerous companies that run programs for migrants in order to get the tickets, including "re-ticketing" to move the migrants on to other cities.
One must ask how awful of a place NYC has become if migrants who fled horrific conditions and circumstances in their countries of origin are choosing to leave the city due to the deplorable conditions they are being met with.
