An acolyte of Barack Obama's has entered the chat.
The Rev. Michael Blake, 41, has declared his intent to run for the office currently held by beleaguered Democrat Eric Adams. Blake was critical of Adams' "ties" to president-elect Donald Trump, who he referred to as the "incoming fascist president."
It's an interesting line of attack, sure to garner some headlines. But is it altogether true?
To say that Adams and Trump are on the same side is laughable. Adams is in a position to get his political bacon saved by Trump if--and it's a huge if--Trump and Adams working together can solve the illegal alien issues such as violent crime, theft, and drug sales by gangs like Tren de Aragua taken care of.

The unlikely duo aren't so far apart after all, if you think about it. Two native New Yorkers who want law and order in the city they both love. But political allies? Fuhgeddaboutit!
The Manhattan is reminded of when Obama tried to inject a younger, black presidential candidate into the 2020 race before finally backing Joe Biden. Anyone remember Obama's brief flirtation with former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick?
Blake was a state assemblyman from 2015-21. The New York Post reported that he describes his political leanings as “visionary moderate leader with progressive policy leanings.”
Here's an old video of Blake--from seven years ago--discussing politics. It's the most recent thing we could find on the mayoral candidate, which should tell you a lot about the dismal state of New York politics.
