President Trump announced the implementation of sweeping tariffs today (listed below) and the markets sold off, although not in a panic.
The U.S. government was already raking in large amounts of fees, but this new announcement will ensure long-lasting revenue for the federal government.
The new tariff rates are set to take effect in just seven days, starting at 12:01 a.m. ET. A baseline 10% tariff will apply to imports from most countries, writes ZH.

The jobs print for July was also announced today and came in well below expectations. The likely culprit is high short term interest rates enforce by Fed Chair Jerome Powell.
President Trump raged against Powell's unyielding stance, accusing the Fed of wanting to harm the Trump economy.
Trump floated the idea of the Federal Reserve Board taking power from Powell on rates.
