United says computer system outage, I'm not dismissing cyber interference

United Airlines’ national ground-stop wasn’t given the attention it merits. Last week, United grounded all mainline departures across the country, while United Express departures and any flights already in the air remained unaffected. United attributed the ground-stop to safety concerns with their “weight and balance computer system”.

While the tech glitch was resolved within a few hours, over 1,000 flights were delayed with another 40 cancelled. United confirmed in a statement that the system outage had nothing to do with a cyber attack, but recent mass flight delays and cancellations allegedly due to “weather” or “technology issues” add to my suspicion.

The FAA and U.S. Transportation Secretary both released statements, relegating the ground-stop to United’s technology concern and only affected the one airline. Again, not a conspiracy theorist, but these recent mass domestic flight disruptions—along with Boeing employment strikes—look like they point to hit-and-run, experimental penetrations of both the American aviation infrastructure and its builders.
