CDM's own Tom Teague declared recently on our daily news show The SCIF that President Trump likely de-escalated in Minnesota as he wanted to avoid a government shutdown which would harm the economy, as well as funding for DHS.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed this theory today.

President Donald Trump has “brought down the temperature” on civil unrest in Minnesota over aggressive federal immigration efforts there, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Wednesday.

Trump is now “urging” lawmakers to take action to avoid triggering a partial government shutdown amid disputes over federal funding for the Department of Homeland Security, Bessent told CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.”
