Fox 5 in New York reported that DNA from a discarded smoothie straw allegedly links a Long Island man to the murder of a teen in 1984.

According to the news report, two years later three men were convicted of the rape and murder, but DNA evidence in 2003 showed them to be innocent. The three were later released from prison after serving 18 years behind bars.
