News 12 (New York - New Jersey - Connecticut) reported that a former guidance counselor at Nathan Hale Middle School in Norwalk, CT was convicted of perfoming sex acts on a 13 y. o. student in her office.
The prosecution called it a very disturbing case.
The guidance counselor pleaded guilty to sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
A judge sentenced her to 4 1/2 years in prison and 12 years of probation.
Police started investigating the guidance counselor in April 2024 after receiving a tip. She was arrested a few months later.
News 12 journalist Marissa Alter said that, before sentencing, the accused was deeply remorseful and understood the harm she caused the victim.
