Fox Business reports that Zohran Mamdani's victory speech after winning the New York's mayor's race left a number of people stunned.
"Here in New York, 1% of the population pays 48% of the income tax," commented portfolio manager Adam Johnson. "Capital goes where it is treated best. If [Mamdani] is going to pay for all of these handouts by taxing the wealthy, people are going to leave."
"And it wouldn't take a lot to completely upset the balance of payments," added Johnson. "[If] you antagonize a quarter of that 1%, it all implodes."
