July 14th is a big deal in France. What started the French Revolution has striking parallels to what is happening in present day America and New York City under the tyrannical Democrat party.

Bastille Day, "La Fête nationale" in France, commemorates the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789. The Bastille was a fortress and prison in Paris that became a symbol of the oppressive monarchy and the abuses of the Ancien Régime.

Many of those locked in the Bastille were political dissidents. Imagine January 6th prisoners, now marking thirty months rotting away in our “Bastille” without any rights and without counsel.

The storming of the Bastille by a revolutionary mob marked a turning point in the French Revolution. It represented the successful uprising against the monarchy and the beginning of the French Revolution.

Here in America, and in New York City, parents are the revolutionaries. We have had the jack boot of the Biden administration on our necks calling us “domestic terrorists.” The teachers unions turn our kids against us. And local bullies like Mayor Adams try to keep us paralyzed with fear, working and earning just enough to pay for the cockamamie lunacy used to bankrupt our souls and empty our wallets; illegals, drugs, an educational complex creating monsters of our kids, climate idiocy, and of course, expanded bureaucracy.

The French revolutionaries wanted bread. Marie Antoinette told them to eat cake. New York City residents want chicken and can’t afford it. In his Marie Antoinette moment, Mayor Adams says, shut up, I’m the symbol of black manhood and you have to put up illegals in $400 a night luxury hotels, peasants. Overthrowing the Ancien Régime and capturing the Bastille marked a significant blow to the authority of the Bourbon monarchy and the feudal system under the monarchy for centuries. It represented a rejection of the absolute power of the king and a desire for a more representative and democratic government.

Funny, in 2023, there’s nothing modern about the Left. Biden, the teachers unions, and Democrat leaders in blue cities and states are dinosaurs hawking the same failed ideas without any originality. Feudal, primitive, and medieval, they reject the free market of ideas and property. They overreach and squelch competition, insisting the government knows best. America and New York City are as modern as Darfur.

After the storming of the Bastille, the mob devolved into the National Constituent Assembly, a “Directorate” composed of unelected bureaucrats. They voiced ideals, never fulfilled, of the Rights of Man and Citizen. They got a whiff of grapeshot up their ass by Napoleon.

The storming of the Bastille supposedly made citizens free of the tyrant, the king. It really substituted the tyrant “Directorate.” It took Napoleon and his grapeshot to constitute a country and the rule of law, under the “Code Napoleon.”

Sounds familiar. Throughout America, throughout New York City, stories are going viral of parent revolutionaries. They’re taking on affirmative action and race based admissions at Harvard. They’re taking on New York City’s all boys private school, Browning, against academia’s allegiance to the Left and the transgender movement. And they’re fleeing the Big Apple.

The events following the storming of the Bastille ultimately led to Napoleon and the establishment of the First French Republic in 1792. Bastille Day celebrates the birth of the republic and the principles it was founded upon.

In 2023, France seems to need another “whiff of grapeshot.” Illegals are the new tyrants subjugating French. However, in America, even in Democrat bastions like New York City, parents are rising up, running to the frontlines, and they will be the cause of the end of one party Democrat rule.
