Jill Abramson, who was the executive editor of the New York Times from 2011 to 2014 (pushed out for the more malleable Dean Baquet), has taken a big shot at Joe Biden and the White House press corps.
In unvarnished comments in a Ben Smith interview, Abramson claimed that “The Biden White House clearly succeeded in a massive cover-up of the degree of the President’s feebleness and his serious physical decline".
The nationwide shock over Biden's poor debate performance is, in Abramson's eyes, the result of the media's failure to accurately report what they see. “Shame on the White House press corps for not to have [sic] pierced the veil of secrecy surrounding the President", she exclaimed.
On the other hand, she sympathized for those same reporters by blaming Trump.
