Is this the hill Kathy Hochul will choose to die on? Venezuelan gang kids? Really?
The prosecutorial system in New York City is broken. We know the names of the two-headed snake: DA Alvin Bragg and AG Letitia James. As reported yesterday, Tren de Aragua (TdA) continues to be the glowing red boil on Gotham's nose, the plainly obvious problem for the world's greatest police force to lance immediately...yet those in power look away.
The governor has the power to remove the district attorney. She may also recommend that the US Senate remove the attorney general.
The New York State Constitution reads thusly:
Any district attorney who shall fail faithfully to prosecute a person charged with the violation in his or her county of any provision of this article which may come to his or her knowledge, shall be removed from office by the governor, after due notice and an opportunity of being heard in his or her defense.

Alvin Bragg has "downgraded" 52% of felony cases to misdemeanors. He has reduced charges for citizens attacking police officers. He let a man off who had committed 27 pharmacy thefts as pharmacies across the city have been forced to close.
And the released recidivists? As Mayor Eric Adams has correctly pointed out, they do what they know best. A man who raped a 15 year-old relative was given reduced charges...only to sexually assault five others months later. There are endless examples of the same repeat offenses by a small handful of criminals.
It's as if Bragg wants more crime. Like his handlers actively seek the destruction of NYC. Like this is a larger battle between rule of law and goodness vs. what can only be called promotion of crime. Evil.
And Gov. Hochul can have Bragg removed! Her popularity would absolutely SOAR. Hell, I'd throw some tickertape out the window as her motorcade rolled past. I'd cheer as she waved, despite the fake horsey grin.
And AG Letitia James? She ran on going after Donald Trump, and she did. In a mindless barrage of lawfare, she used an array of legal trickery to enter charges on actions past the statute of limitations, entertained witnesses whose testimony had previously been credibly called into question...but she got her scalp.
A conviction was what the Dems wanted prior to the election, so that they could gloat and cry, "See! He's a convicted FELON!" Never mind that the "hush money" case will be overturned on appeal, and has been derided even by Democrats such as Andrew Cuomo, in an interview on Real Time with Bill Maher.
The Democrats, as they are wont to do, salivate over an idea so much that the public is repulsed, or at least sees through the naked gambit. It's when the donkey goes full jackass and reveals its ugliest visage.
Think of Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union speech, or Jussie Smollett, backed by the Chicago Machine, failing to start a Civil War, or Mueller Time, or Schiff, Vindman, and Strzok twisting their faces in rage during the twin impeachments, or E. Jean Carroll's crazy-eyed, bizarre rant on Rachel Maddow's show about spending her winnings on a luxury shopping spree.
Here are some of the problems facing Hochul.
On the last bullet especially: Hochul has seen what happens when a Dem refuses to toe the party line, but her fate is practically sealed if she doesn't go rogue and solve New York's systemic, glaring prosecution problem.
