Moraes To Brazilians: No More Rumble

The dictatorial pruning of freedom of speech continues in Brazil. Despite a massive rally led by Jair Bolsonaro on Saturday, the media platform Rumble is no longer available in Brazil after refusing to comply with government censorship demands led by Justice Alexandre de Moraes of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court.

The news follows on the heels of Elon Musk's X blockage for the same reason: refusal to remove accounts that are, in Moraes' opinion, "hateful."

Brazilians who are caught using a VPN to access X or Rumble face a 50,000 rial fine ($8,900) per day. The group chat app Discord has also been threatened by the Supreme Federal Court.
