The homicide case of 31 year-old Yazmeen Williams continues to develop. The Kips Bay woman's body was found in a sleeping bag wrapped with trash bags on E. 27th St. with a gunshot wound to the head on Friday.
Yesterday afternoon, a man handcuffed to a gurney was taken from his NYCHA housing complex in Manhattan while onlookers pummeled and spat on him. Today he was identified as Chad Irish, 55. Irish had been apprehended in a separate matter, but was questioned about Williams. As a result, he has been charged with concealing a corpse.
Irish is wheelchair-bound, and video surveillance from an apartment near where Williams' body was discovered showed someone in a wheelchair moving her wrapped body.
Irish is a parolee with 21 prior arrests on his record. According to the NY Post, Irish "served three years in prison after he was convicted of attempted arson for trying to blow up his uncle’s home in the Bronx back in 1994 by dislodging a gas pipe and two propane tanks, sparking an explosion."
